These adventures are perfect for you if you’re open to connecting with new people and forming meaningful relationships. If you value shared experiences and enjoy helping out, you'll be a great fit! Especially, if you like packing vehicles or contributing to group meals. This trip is great if you’re excited by a mix of outdoor activities, creative workshops, and time to explore on your own.
Who would hate this trip?
This trip is not for you if you’re looking for five-star luxury accommodations or highly curated experiences. It's also not a good fit if you prefer hands-off travel where everything is done for you. This trip is about building community. So, you need to be willing to push yourself to connect with strangers and make new friends.
What does a typical day look like?
Each day offers three à la carte options: 1.) Outdoor Adventures & Exploring with Gennifre: Activities like hiking, snorkeling, or exploring the natural surroundings. 2.) Creative Experiences: Learn from our creative partner—cooking, yoga, or diving into their unique expertise. 3.) Do Your Own Thing: Take time to rest, explore independently, or follow your own interests.
How often do these trips happen?
Unscripted Adventures only runs 3-4 trips per year, each carefully crafted for a small group experience. Our goal is quality - not quantity. If it's not a great trip with fun folks, we aren't going to run it.
What’s the accommodation like?
We stay in shared lodges or big houses where you’ll have your own room when available, or share with another participant. Shared spaces foster connection, and you’ll help with evening cooking to contribute to the group dynamic.
What’s included in the cost?
The trip cost covers: Transportation during the trip; Shared accommodations, and Most meals. You’ll need to budget separately for: Nights out or special meals not cooked as a group; Souvenirs or personal expenses; Inbound and outbound flights to/from the trip location.
What kind of group can I expect?
Our trips bring together a small group of adventurous, open-minded individuals who value connection, laughter, and shared experiences. Bonus points for anyone with a sense of humor. Each group typically includes 8-10 people to ensure a personal and meaningful experience. Each trip has a suggestion for the type of participants who would likely enjoy the program.
Can I bring my teenager?
Our trips are designed for: Solo travelers looking to connect with others who share a sense of adventure; Partners who want to explore together while meeting new people, Families and teens, if the trip is specifically designated as family-friendly. Each trip clearly states whether it’s appropriate for families or teens.
What about physical activity?
Most trips require a willingness to participate in physical activities. We aim for a balance of accessibility and adventure, but if you have specific needs or concerns, reach out—we’re happy to discuss accommodations. Also, if your preferred trip includes hiking, you should probably enjoy hiking. The same goes for yoga or any other featured activity. Just saying.
What kind of people will I meet?
Expect a mix of adventurous, open-minded individuals who value connection, laughter, and shared experiences. Most participants are solo travelers or couples who are excited to meet and bond with others. If you are going with a friend or a partner, please know that you will often be encouraged to pair with others.
What kind of payment plans are there?
To make your adventure more accessible, we offer a flexible payment plan with the following structure: Standard Payment Plan Deposit (Non-refundable): Amount: 25% of the total trip cost. Due Date: At the time of booking to secure your spot. Second Payment: Amount: 50% of the total trip cost. Due Date: 90 days before the trip start date. Final Payment: Amount: Remaining 25% of the total trip cost. Due Date: 30 days before the trip start date.
Can I make payments?
For travelers who book early, we offer an extended payment plan with smaller, more frequent payments: Deposit: 10% of the total trip cost at the time of booking. Monthly Installments: Divide the remaining balance into equal monthly payments, ending 30 days before the trip start date.
What if I need to cancel?
Deposit: Non-refundable. Refunds: 50% refund for cancellations made 60+ days before the trip. No refunds for cancellations within 60 days of the trip.
Is it really phone-free?
We call it "forced family fun." This is when you spend evenings playing charades or reading a book or talking under the stars. We ask that you voluntarily limit your phone time to before breakfast and during a one-hour reset after dinner. Aside from that, we encourage you to be present, connect with others, and reset your world.
