Hi, I’m Gennifre Hartman, the founder of Adventures Unscripted. My life has been shaped by community.
Right now, I want to use travel to intentionally create more community. To create moments where connection, laughter, and going with the flow turn the unexpected into something unforgettable. These are the elements I bring to every trip, creating adventures that are as real and imperfect as life itself.
Why Me?
I’ll never forget the time when we had a group in the deep wilderness on a whitewater river trip. One beautiful evening, we were sitting with our camp chairs on the sandy beach along the river's edge, our toes in the sand. However, the weather had other plans for us— and, in a moment - the sky opened up and rain poured relentlessly, turning the beach into a soggy, muddy mess. Spirits were low, and tensions were high. We each leapt into our sand-filled tents as water streamed in rivulets through camp. Instead of complaining, one of the tents of teenagers created a "Rain Playlist" as we huddled under the tarps, laughing at the absurdity of it all. Within minutes, as "Riders of the Storm" started, the voices from each soggy tent started singing off-key, our voices blending with the rain.

That night, after the storm rolled through, we emerged from our wet tarps and collaboratively built a small fire. Mud-covered and exhausted, we sat together, sharing stories and jokes that echoed through the dark. What started as a challenge became one of the most connected, joyful moments of the trip. It wasn’t about where we were or what went wrong—it was about how we came together, laughed, and let the flow of the moment guide us.

This is the kind of magic I strive to create. Adventures aren’t about perfection—they’re about the connections we forge, the laughter we share, and the way we learn to embrace whatever comes our way.

Through decades of experience as an international guide, educator, and leader, I’ve learned that the best moments can’t be planned.
My background in leading wilderness expeditions, crafting cultural immersive experiences, and managing complex logistics has taught me how to create spaces where people feel connected, inspired, and challenged. Whether it’s hiking a rugged trail, sharing a meal in a new culture, or adapting to the unexpected, I bring a unique mix of practical expertise and a passion for fostering human connection.
With Adventures Unscripted, I combine all these elements to offer journeys that go beyond the ordinary.
